American indie band Big Thief is set to play its biggest show yet in the Netherlands. On April 21, 2026, the band will perform at AFAS Live in Amsterdam as part of their Somersault Slide 360 ​​tour.

The extensive tour kicks off in North America in September and moves to Europe in the spring of 2026. This will be the band's first Dutch performance since their electrifying performance at the Lowlands festival in 2024.

Big Thief has proven itself over the past decade to be one of the most exciting live bands of their generation. Comprising songwriter Adrianne Lenker, guitarist Buck Meek, and drummer James Krivchenia, Big Thief's creative output is seemingly limitless, spanning five critically acclaimed albums.

AFAS Live

Getting there

AFAS Live is easily accessible from the highway. For some events we also offer parking tickets. This way you can reserve a spot in advance and don't have to stress on location.

There are two train stations in the area of AFAS Live: Amsterdam Bijlmer ArenA and Duivendrecht. Both stations are within walking distance. Both intercity trains and sprinters with connections from Schiphol, Utrecht Centraal, Ede-Wageningen, Arnhem, Nijmegen, Eindhoven, Gouda and Rotterdam, among others, stop at these stations. If you are travelling from Schiphol, Almere or Amersfoort, take the train to Duivendrecht station. If you are travelling from Amsterdam Central and Utrecht Central, take the train to Amsterdam Bijlmer ArenA station.

You can reach AFAS Live by city and regional bus, and R-net runs between Haarlem station and Amsterdam Bijlmer Arena. Also at night!

By metro, you get off at metro station Bijlmer ArenA, within walking distance of AFAS Live.
