About
Since 2009, De Staat has been racing through the Netherlands and the wider area. In 2008 the band already got off to a flying start as support act for Belgian rock band dEUS during their tour through Great Britain, followed by the increasingly crowded halls during the Popronde that year. Debut album 'Wait For Evolution' won in 2009 the 3voor12 Award for best album of the year, 3FM Award for best album. Successor 'Machinery' was released in 2011. An enormous machine was built for the tour of the same name, which served not only as a set live on stage, but also as a full-fledged instrument. In 2011 and 2012, De Staat won the 3FM Awards in the alternative category. De Staat's third album, 'I_CON', has Torre Florim mixed in Nashville, Tennessee, with Grammy winner Vance Powell. Powell, responsible for the sound of The Raconteurs and Jack White among others, was enthusiastic about the band. De Staat won an Edison Award in 2014 for 'I_CON'. Single 'Devil's Blood' became 3FM Megahit, and the track 'Down Town' was included in the FIFA 2014 soundtrack.
