Dropkick Murphys blijft trots Boston’s rock ‘n’ roll underdogs die toch kampioen zijn geworden. In het combineren van Ierse folkmuziek, hardcore en punk zijn de Dropkick Murphys nog altijd heer en meester. Geïnspireerd door bands als Stiff Little Fingers, The Pogues, AC/DC, The Clash, The Misfits en Motörhead en compleet met gitaren, mandolines en doedelzakken, creëerde de band een uniek eigen geluid.

Hun discografie bevat vier opeenvolgende Billboard top 10 albumdebuuten (Turn Up That Dial, 11 Short Stories Of Pain & Glory, Signed and Sealed in Blood, Going Out In Style), samen met de gouden plaat The Warrior's Code uit 2005 met de dubbele platina single I'm Shipping Up To Boston. De muziek van Dropkick Murphys heeft een half miljard streams gegenereerd, ze hebben stilletjes ruim 8 miljoen exemplaren wereldwijd verkocht en de band heeft optredens op meerdere continenten uitverkocht. In 2020 was de band een van de eersten die streaming optredens omarmde met hun virtuele optreden Streaming Up From Boston St. Patrick's Day.
