In 2010 werd de Deense muzikante Ida Nielsen ontdekt door Prince, die haar uitnodigde voor een jamsessie. De virtuositeit van haar basgitaarspel raakte Prince onmiddellijk, en ze kreeg de kans om zich aan te sluiten bij zijn band, The New Power Generation. Later werd ze een van de vier bandleden van 3rdeyegirl. Tot aan Prince's overlijden toerde ze intensief met beide bands, beschrijvend dat deze periode "een enorm cadeau en de meest magische muzikale reis ooit was, en een voortdurende leerervaring die alle verbeelding te boven gaat".

Na de prachtige jaren met Prince verovert Ida nu solo de wereld. Sinds de release van haar derde soloalbum in 2016 tourt ze onvermoeibaar met haar band, genaamd 'The Funkbots'. Haar meest recente prestatie is het album '02022020'.

Haar optredens zijn doordrenkt van high-energy funk, boordevol positieve vibes, strakke grooves en subtiele verwijzingen naar haar voormalige mentor, Prince.
