About

From Broadway star to pop powerhouse

Now squarely focussed on music, Reneé Rapp offers up a voice trained for projection, an inherent knack for performing and confessional lyrics that make no attempt to soften her emotions.

Raised in North Carolina, Reneé Rapp’s early fixation on music evolved alongside a keen interest in acting and musical theatre. After making her Broadway debut as Regina George in Mean Girls in 2019, she landed a coveted lead role in Mindy Kaling’s HBO Max show The Sex Lives of College Girls, before later reprising her role as Regina in the 2024 film remake. Since stepping away from acting to pursue a recording career, Rapp has cemented her status as a formidable pop star, crafting a bold, emotionally charged sound that draws on her theatrical roots and celebrates her identity as a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community.

In late 2022, Rapp unveiled her debut EP Everything to Everyone, featuring enduring fan-favourite ‘Too Well’, a reflective breakup track that blends danceable rhythms with emotional depth and powerful vocals. Hot on its heels, Rapp’s first full-length album, Snow Angel (2023), broadened her sonic palette, oscillating between shimmering, maximalist pop and bold ballads, while exploring themes of sexuality and self-discovery. In December of the same year, Rapp released ‘Not My Fault’ with Megan Thee Stallion, a slick, disco-inflected banger with sapphic overtones, crafted specifically for the Mean Girls movie soundtrack.

Building on the diary-like intensity of Snow Angel, Rapp has continued her rise with a string of releases in 2025 ahead of her highly anticipated follow-up album BITE ME. Signaling a more refined, darker pop direction, ‘Leave Me Alone’ is a sleek, synth-driven anthem of emotional detachment, while ‘Mad’ channels rage and heartbreak through driving bass and sharp lyrical wit. Most recently, ‘Why Is She Still Here’ leans into pared-back production and dynamic vocals, spotlighting Rapp’s ability to translate queer longing into devastating pop.

With a sold-out international tour, standout festival appearances, and a critically acclaimed Coachella debut under her belt, the artist has firmly established herself as more than just another actor-turned-singer. Earning comparisons to pop heavyweights like Olivia Rodrigo, she’s been widely praised for her emotional depth and refreshingly candid interviews. Her first global outing, the Snow Hard Feelings tour, saw Rapp expand her fanbase to audiences across North America and Europe, delivering her songs with the prowess of a seasoned Broadway star.
