About
When Sam Fender's debut album, 'Hypersonic Missiles' from 2019, introduced a savvy, streetwise British songwriter with a love for euphoric guitar anthems, it was the unparalleled 'Seventeen Going Under' from 2021 that propelled the Newcastle artist to new heights. As a keen observer, Fender holds up the mirror not only to the streets where he grew up but also to himself. The album is a gritty yet tender account of Fender's youth, finding his way in northern England amid all the complexities and anxieties that weighed so heavily on his shoulders. It is also a coming-of-age tale, blending relatable family themes and broken friendships with devastatingly colossal choruses.
'Seventeen Going Under' is also an album that has taken Sam around the world, where he has performed in larger venues and stages, earning numerous awards (BRITs, NMEs, Ivor Novellos, and a prestigious Mercury Prize nomination).
After headlining his first UK festivals in the summer of 2022 and selling out all 45,000 tickets for his most recent headline show in London, Sam Fender has inadvertently become one of the UK's most celebrated and successful musicians.
