Tower of Power is een soul- en funksensatie uit Amerika. De band werd eind jaren zestig opgericht en zet zich op de kaart door gedreven optredens en een fantastische blazerssectie. Inmiddels is de band legendarisch en wordt gerekend tot de top van wat Amerika te bieden heeft. De optredens worden nog altijd gedaan met dezelfde tomeloze inzet en vurige passie. Een avond met Tower of Power staat 45 jaar na oprichting nog altijd garant voor muzikaal vuurwerk! Andere artiesten doen dan ook regelmatig een beroep op de diensten van oprichter en tenorsaxofonist Emilio Castillo en zijn uitstekende liveband. Onder andere Santana, Elton John, Little Feat en Rod Stewart maken gebruik van de kwaliteiten van Tower Of Power. Zelf heeft de band ook menig ijzersterke albums uitgebracht en is verantwoordelijk voor hits als ‘You’re Still a Young Man’, ‘So Very Hard to Go’ en ‘Don’t Change Horses (in the Middle of a Stream)’.
