Rufus Wainwright Rufus Wainwright staat bekend als één van de belangrijkste songwriters van deze tijd. Volgens Elton John is hij 'the greatest songwriter on the planet'. Zijn bohemian lifestyle en briljante mix van theatrale pop, vaudeville, jazz en folkmuziek zorgt voor lovende kritieken van zowel het publiek als de muziekpers.

In 1998 verschijnt het titelloze debuutalbum van Rufus Wainwright. Zijn eerste twee albums worden bekroond met Juno Awards en het album ‘Rufus Does Judy At Carnegie Hall’, een hommage aan Judy Garland, wordt genomineerd voor een Grammy Award. Dankzij de soundtracks die hij schrijft voor Shrek, Moulin Rouge en Brokeback Mountain wordt Rufus Wainwright ook bekend bij een groter publiek. Zijn laatste album ‘Out of the Game’ is geproduceerd door Grammy Award winnaar Mark Ronson, onder meer bekend van zijn producties voor Amy Winehouse en Adele.
