“Het meest belangrijke album dat we ooit gemaakt hebben”; zo beschrijft zanger Chris Conley van Saves The Day hun album “Through Being Cool”. Het voelt als de dag van gisteren dat we de eerste keer naar dit album luisterden, maar stiekem is het alweer vijfentwintig jaar geleden! Hoewel de leden van Saves The Day aan het studeren waren aan New York University terwijl het album geschreven en opgenomen werd, besloten ze kort na de release van het album om op tour te gaan met onder andere Snapcase, New Found Glory en Hot Water Music.
Tot op heden komt het album nog steeds voor in verschillende lijsten met essentiële album. Niet heel gek, want het album inspireerde een nieuwe golf aan pop-punk bands, waaronder ook Fall Out Boy en Taking Back Sunday.
