About

On October 17, Tame Impala (Kevin Parker) will release his fifth studio album, Deadbeat, through Columbia Records. The album features powerful, psychedelic club tracks and some of Parker’s most direct and catchy songs to date.

To mark the release, Tame Impala announced a European tour this morning, including a show at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam.

Today also sees the release of the new single “Dracula,” accompanied by a music video directed by Julian Klincewicz. Earlier singles include “Loser,” with a video directed by Kristofski starring Joe Keery, and the seven-minute track “End of Summer” a tribute to the acid house summer of ’89, the free parties of the ’90s, and bush doofs in the Australian outback. That song is supported by a short visual storyline created by artist Julian Klincewicz.

Deadbeat draws inspiration from bush doof culture and the rave scene in Western Australia, presenting Tame Impala as a futuristic, primal rave act. The album was largely created in Parker’s hometown of Fremantle and his Wave House studio in Injidup. The result blends precision and control with fresh spontaneity, rich textures, and a more playful vocal style than before. Deadbeat is now available for pre-order.

Lyrically, Deadbeat explores Parker’s inner struggles and self-deprecating humor, focusing on the subtle details of everyday emotional life. The album views raves as a form of self-exploration and self-medication, where joy and euphoria offer a temporary escape from daily reality.

Kevin Parker is recognized globally as one of the most influential artists of the past decade. He plays all the instruments himself, writes, produces, and mixes his work, and has won numerous international awards, including a Grammy Award, a BRIT Award, and 13 ARIA Awards. Tame Impala has scored multiple international hits, including “The Less I Know The Better,” which has surpassed 2 billion streams, and has performed at major festivals and arenas around the world. Parker has also collaborated with artists such as Dua Lipa, The Weeknd, SZA, Lady Gaga, Travis Scott, and Gorillaz.
