In 2004 veroverde Franz Ferdinand de muziekscene met hun debuutalbum, dat zowel de Mercury Music Prize won als de legendarische hit 'Take Me Out' voortbracht. Na vijf succesvolle studioalbums met nummers als 'No You Girls' en 'Love Illumination', bouwde de band een enorme live-reputatie op. Hun zesde album, 'The Human Fear', draait om het thema angst, met een frisse dynamiek dankzij nieuwe leden Julian Corrie en Dino Bardot. Franz Ferdinand blijft trouw aan hun rauwe geluid, met snelle en spontane opnames. Nog steeds een favoriet in de indie-scene, combineren ze synthpop en glamrock in hits als 'Mattinée' en 'This Fire'.
